Organic glass materials are classified into many kinds and there is big difference between imported ones and domestic ones. The imported ones are smooth after cutting and the domestic ones will generate bubbles because it contains too much impurity. Low speed machines are usually adopted for cutting of acrylics because its laser power is not too high and the thick materials require higher precision. Usually the speed is no more than 3 meters per minute. Such as CMB series, its straight line lead rail generates exquisite lines with high smoothness. At present, we provide five specifications of focusing lens on the basis of focal distance (50mm\63.5mm\75mm\100mm) besides double focusing mirrors. Introduction according to the thickness of materials Cutting of thick materials(10-20mm) 75mm focusing lens are usually adopted for cutting of organic glasses over 10mm and 100mm focusing lens for organic glasses over 25mm to cut a top depth of 32mm. Cutting of 10mm organic glasses: the cutting speed is usually 0.08-0.12 meter per minute and the optical density is 60-70%. The laser is most stable when the optical density is 60% and the leaking air ejector is used to adjust the amount of air blow to smoothen the edge. If the air flow is too strong, the melt will be blown back to the organic glasses to form uneven surface. Try to decrease the air blow as much as possible. Sometimes, it is necessary to lay on newspapers or films for cutting. At such time, the air blow should not be too small, or it will cause fire. The speed and optical density should be well matched when cutting organic glasses. Too slow speed won’t generate good smoothness. High power laser diode is preferential for cutting of organic glasses over 15mm. leaking air ejector will be used when engraving organic glasses and the engraving should not be too deep for over depth cause difficulty to form even bottom. Strong air blow will influence the effect of edge engraving. For more exquisite and clear engraving, it should not be too deep and the air blow should not be too weak. For cutting of acrylics, attention should be paid to resolution setup. If the BMP format is adopted, the resolution should be above 6000dpi and the speed is 8-18 meters per minute with the optical density 20%-30%. When cleaning, turn off the air blow to make the bottom more flat. Cutting of thin materials (2-10mm) 50mm focusing lens is adopted for organic glasses less than 5mm and the speed is usually 0.35-0.8 meters per minute, the optical density 45-65%. 63.5mm focusing lens is usually adopted for 5-10mm organic glassed and the speed is 0.15-0.3 meter per minute, the optical density 50-75%. If resonance occurs with the large area engraver when engraving, it will cause engraving precision decrease. Thus, the width of organic glasses to be cut no more than 1 meter is advised. White powders generated in the process of engraving portrait on organic glasses will make it clearer. It will become fuzzy if the powder is cleaned after engraving. The processing necessary is determined by actual condition. Engraving of glasses (or mirrors) For engraving of real glasses, some customers engrave with scrubs but the exquisite position smashes, so it require high speed and optical density. Usually the speed is 10meters per minute and the optical density is 35%. Metal marking machine is usually adopted for engraving of mirrors to obtain more even bottom.
