- An Interview of the Han's Yueming Laser Technology Co., Ltd

    In any industry, there are enterprises that have constantly accumulated capital, technical capabilities and built up strength for future development. They grew stronger day by day, laying a solid foundation for and advancing the development of the industry as a whole. They constitute the potential stocks of the industry.

    In response to my request for an interview of the Han's Yueming Laser Technology Co., Ltd ("Han's Yueming Laser" for short), Mr. Zhuo Jinsong, General Manager of the Company, kept the whole thing in rather low-key. By the agreed time of interview, he was already waiting in his office. My first impression of him was that he was a cordial, elegant man with strong affinity. The Company, on the other hand, impressed me with its vigor, vitality and good order.

    Han's Yueming Laser Technology Co., Ltd, formerly known as Yueming Laser Technology Co., Ltd, was founded in 2001. In a short period of nine years since establishment, it has been able to grow from a small firm into a large enterprise of RMB 200 million in annual production capacity, with a staff in excess of 400 people, which is extremely rare in the business.

    Mr. Zhuo, having started out as a salesman himself, was overwhelmingly aware of the importance of clients to the Company, which explains why the concept of "Customer is the lifeline of the Company" has been recognized as one of their operation philosophies. Always putting the interests of customers first and positioning customers at the core of the Company’s operation, Han's Yueming Laser has at all time played the card of good services, striving to be the best in the trade in terms of expertise and other services by learning from Haier.

When asked about the development strategy of the Company, Manager Zhuo came out with his ideas. "We have always been technology-oriented. Starting from 2003, the Company spent 20% of its annual profits on product research and development every year. It is our ultimate purpose to build Han's Yueming into a high quality brand of technical content, rather than simply taking up more market shares." For this reason, a great many of the Company's top management were originally technicians, and Vice-general Manager Ni Weiping was one of them. They value technology and respect technical talents, while making continued efforts to increase the competitiveness of Han's Yueming brand. More than a decade of marketing experiences have also allowed Manager Zhuo for a clear understanding of the absolute significance of production technology to the sales of the products.

    On May 20th, 2009, Han's Yueming Laser relocated to Yanwu Industrial Area in Wanjiang District, Dongguan City, integrating product research and development, production and marketing into one. Endowed with advantaged transportation, resources and environments, the move marks a huge headway of the Company toward the development strategy of "grounded in Dongguan, and going global".

    At the mention of the widely influential financial crisis broke out in 2008, Manager Zhuo gave a relieved smile and remarked, "The financial crisis proved to be a god-given opportunity for Han's Yueming Laser. The Company developed while many other enterprises have gone bust. We also made some reforms making use of this opportunity." In 2009, Han's Yueming continued its practice of rapidly detecting market gaps and responding swiftly to market needs, which enabled it to retain a high rate of sales growth, registering a 45% increase over the previous year in export amount, thanks to its reliable product quality and first-class services.

    Meanwhile, Manager Zhuo cherished a clear understanding of Han's Yueming Laser, "Our cooperation with the Han's presents a golden opportunity and a new starting point as well. After that, the Company will be increasingly standardized and systematized in the course of development."

    It has been said that the style of a Company is determined by the style of its leader. Under the leadership of Manager Zhuo who is generous, calm and sagacious, the Han's Yueming is also tolerant and all-embracing, being able to taking in everything. Where there is accumulation; there is moment of eruption. We hope that Han's Yueming will achieve greater success in the years to come.

Postscript: The interview was carried out in a rather relaxing and lively atmosphere. He spoke of his past experiences and the development of entire industry as well, which really inspired strong feelings in me. What impressed me most is his calmness in the face of a general climate of economic recession. Only those who have full confidence in their enterprises will exhibit such calmness. I sincerely hope that Han's Yueming will gain better and better development in the future.
