A Letter of Thanks
Dear General Manager and colleagues,
We are Ge Kun and Hao Lihua, both staff members of Yueming Laser. We had a daughter after we got married. Our daughter was looked after in the hometown by our parents, so we can work in Yueming without worrying about her. However, things are not predictable. One day words came from hometown that our little daughter was dying from very serious disease, so we hurried home. At last her life was saved thanks to timely treatment, but the medical bills ran as high as tens of thousands Yuan just with a month’s time and we almost spent all the savings. Our daughter was kept in severe medical observation and every day hundreds of Yuan had to be paid for her treatment. In order to cure her disease, we tried all possible ways and borrowed whatever amount of money we could. And we were always in the difficulty of having no money for treatment and our minds turned blank every time at the thought of paying medical bills. Who really could we turn to for help? Fortunately, just at that time, chairman Li Zhongqing called for all staff member of Yueming to donate money to me to help me go through the difficulty. Leaders of various levels and other staff members took active part in the donation activity at his call. Mr. Li drove hundreds of miles to send in person his personal donation and donations from the staff members and the company to us. My thankfulness towards him was beyond description because I was just an ordinary member of Yueming and received so much care and love from others. The donated money really helped to relieve our heavy burden and ensured financial support for our daughter’s further treatment. I truly felt the love and friendliness from the company leader and colleagues. What I would like to say now can be summarized in one: “thank you” and I am sure to work hard from now on to serve the people who have cared about, helped and showed love to me. My sincere gratitude also goes to Manager Li Zhongqing, Yueming Laser and leaders at various levels and all the other colleagues. And good people deserve good fortunate and I wish all well-intended people safe and happy all their lives.

Editor’s notes：Love does not exist for reasons. Similar good deeds just like the above are not difficult to find in Yueming Laser which is known for its well-cultivated traditions. A responsible enterprise knows how to reciprocate society and that great deeds are achievable only when bountiful love is spread in society. For many years, Yueming has done a lot of good deeds in combating floods, providing aids to people in disaster-and sponsoring the Olympics. Just as what general manager Zhuo Jinsong has said, “we do good deeds just to make us publicized and be recognized by more people, and our ultimate aim is to make more people do good to society, which is conducive to the forming of good social environment. And harmonious social atmosphere relies on the effort of everybody.” In fact, Ge Kun does not have to be courteous because he has played his part in combating floods, aiding people in disaster and sponsoring the Olympics. So you deserve our attention when in difficulty and wish your daughter restore to health soon. Your gratitude to society will be turned into continual love deeds in the days to come.
