The main material for the light guide plate is Optical PMMA Sheet(PMMA),the chemical name is methyl methacrylate, its proportion is 1190KG/cbm. Transparent Acrylic Enclosures with high light transmittance,surge withstand capability is strong, the application is very wide. The quality for present PMMA SHEET is different for different manufacturers.  Especially for the reform board, thought the price is cheap, but it is easy to become yellow and the transparency is weak.  The PMMA sheet for making light guide plate should be the transparent panel which is not easy to become yellow and the light transmittance should be above 92%-93%. The best way to make light guide plate is using laser cutting machine.

The transparent acrylic after special and technical processing, only need fix the luminary on the edge. For the luminary, common fluorescent tube can be chosen, such as T4、T5、T7,  diode, CCFL for LCD, etc. The first two lamps are mainly used in market. Generally, it is fixed on both sides of the length, if the width is small, can only fix on one side. After power on, the whole flat surface of the PMMA sheet can dispatch bright, well-distributed and soft light. This is called light guide plate.
